One of the things most clients ask me about before a shoot is, "What should we wear?" I suggest clothes that coordinate, but aren't too matchy. The same color family is great, or pulling one color out and tying it in throughout outfits. This creates a timeless, natural feel that catches the eye. It is visually appealing without looking like you're trying too hard.
I've had a few clients do matching outfits for their kiddos (and done them well), and this can make for adorable photos- expecially if you have a specific purpose in mind such as a Storyboard of gift for a grandparent. However, I suggest this for just a few images, then switch out to something a bit more timeless.
When in doubt, I tell clients to bring everything they're thinking about and we can go through it all together! But, for those of you who have no desire to bring your whole wardrobe, I'm going to be putting together some What to Wear ideas for the blog. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section!
With November rolling around, along with cooler temperatures, my thoughts have turned to fall and getting ready for Christmas Card images. The below look has great coordinating colors, soft neutrals, and subtle textures. Layers and fun accessories complete this look.
